Many people call it comfort eating. For them eating food fills emotional needs and helps them calm

down from distress. There people are basically emotional eaters. While there’s nothing wrong with

eating when you’re sad, it just isn’t the best thing to do given the possible health implications.

But how do you know if you’re an emotional eater. Here are some things that’ll help you recognize

yourself as an emotional eater or not.

1.When you’re feeling sad and overwhelmed by something, you immediately head to the

kitchen or the secret cabinet stashed with food. Is it the sugary and high-carb food that you

go for? Yes, you’re an emotional eater.

2.It’s a slow day, and you can’t decide what to do or you don’t have anything to do. Do you

eat? You’re an emotional eater.

3.You’re stressed. There’s work you need to do and not enough time. Do you decide to snack

on something as you work? You’re an emotional eater.

4.You just did well in the exam, or you aced that meeting. So do you go out for a celebratory

lunch? Yeah, you’re an emotional eater.

5.The scarier the horror movie, the more you much on the popcorn? Emotional eater!
